  2. Born June 5th 1969 in Buffalo, NY • At age 4, he learnt how to sing in the alto section of his church choir • Mother was a singer & gospel pianist. Grandfather was the minister of music • Band leader in high school • Older brother was in a band called “Take 6” which encouraged McKnight to make a name for himself and pursue a musical career. • By the age of 19, he had landed his first record deal with Mercury Records Early life & Career

  3. Music genre: R&B, gospel, soul, jazz and urban contemporary • Plays a range of instruments namely piano, guitar, tuba, trumpet and percussion • Influences: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, King Cole and Prince. Music style &influence
