What is Conversion? • Not a foreign idea to most – essentially “to change” • Conversion is the process by which sinners are transformed into children of God and made fit for citizenship in the kingdom of Christ. “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Mt 18:3) “For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thess. 1:9-10). Have You Been Converted? • Conversion is accomplished when our hearts are changed by the Gospel of Christ. • The message of the Gospel produces faith and leads us to repent and be baptized. • Through this process we receive forgiveness and a clear conscience as our sins are washed away by the blood of Christ.
