Planning for the visit: • Educate yourself on what the key issues are that AIAA will be presenting: • Attend/call in to the Region VI Public Policy colloquium or other info sessions • Go to: http://www.aiaa.org/Secondary.aspx?id=4343 • Ask questions!! • Find out who else is going from your state • Idea: Appoint someone from the state to be the lead coordinator for the state to coordinate making appointments • Find out where everyone lives – this will help when assigning who should contact which Senator/Represtenative offices

Planning for the visit: • Find out who all your state representatives and senators are • House of Representatives: http://www.house.gov/representatives/ • Senate: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm • Assign members of your state team offices to contact senators/representatives to schedule a visit on March 21st! • Remember that some members of congress will only speak with constituents that live in their district, so leverage the geographical location of your team to your advantage • Research which committees your representatives/senators are on and what pieces of legislation they are most involved in. • When planning your visit you should discuss with them the AIAA topics that best resonate with their platform, committees, or legislation that they are involved in
