OUR BEING REASON Since its foundation, in 1979, FAXPG develops work and advocacy for social inclusion of deaf people in Galicia as well as care programms and services in the Training and Resources Center and its affiliated associations. Composed of 7 associations of Deaf people and its members, howewer, attends any need related to the group of deaf and deafblind people whether or not associated with its asssociations.

  4. FAXPG MISION Create the conditions that, based on deaf identity and its diversity, ensure the global development of the deaf people in Galicia in terms of universal accessibility and equal opportunities.

  5. Be the Galician reference entity in: VISION TO AVOID THE OBJECTIVE The representation of the interests of all deaf people in Galicia. The provision of quality services in the care of deaf people in Galicia and their families. - The protection and conservation of Spanish language.

  6. RESPECT THE VALUES THAT IDENTIFIED US Stewardship of the associations. Involvement of all the members of the entity. - Team coordination. - Effectiveness and efficiency. - Prominence of deaf people. - Respect for the deaf community.

JUSTIFICACIÓN DE LA ELECCIÓN DEL VOLUNTARIADO COMO ESTRATEGIA DE INTERVENCIÓN JUSTIFICATION FOR CHOOSING VOLUNTEERING AS STRATEGY OF INTERVENTION ► Colectivo reducido sin asociaciones propias con implantación en Galicia ► Small collective of people in Galicia without representative associations ► Carencia de recursos económicos y materiales para cubrir las necesidades de las personas sordociegas ► Financial and material resources’ failure for the needs of the Deafblind ► Las propias características de la intervención : se trata de una tarea que difícilmente puede ser remunerada y que requiere la participación solidaria de la sociedad ► The response to the problem of communicative isolation suffered by deafblind people can not be achieveed by relying solely on the work of specialised professionals.

ACCESO AL SERVICIO: REQUISITOS DE LAS PERSONAS VOLUNTARIAS ACCESS TO THE SERVICE: VOLUNTEERS’ REQUERIMENTS ► Tener conocimientos de Lengua de Signos Española ► To know Spanish Sign Language ► Disponibilidad inicial mínima de 3 meses y de un servicio mensual ► To Make a inicial commitment of 3 months Including at least one service per month ► Aceptar el tratamiento de sus datos personales e imagen con el fin de establecer una red de contactos ►To allow their images and personal data being used at the volunteers’ network
