Division 17 Update • What this means for TOTOM: • New rubrics will be developed for site visits • Content departments become more important • The only specific rules around content endorsements are in Division 65 which are for licensure, not specifically for programs - http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_500/OAR_584/584_065.html • Old rules are in Division 38 - http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_500/OAR_584/584_038.html

  4. The old rules for content • Division 38 - http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/rules/OARS_500/OAR_584/584_038.html • Rule 0010 for Elementary – 12 qh of math • Rule 0180 for Basic Advanced (up to and including Algebra I) – 21 qh • Rule 0190 for Basic Advanced Mathematics – 42 qh

New Testing Requirements • Have moved mostly from ETS (Praxis) to Pearson (NES/some are under the ORELA umbrella of tests) – Click “Links” http://oregon.gov/TSPC/index.shtml • Multiple Subjects Exam (MSE) – Oregon Specific in two parts - http://www.orela.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/OR001_PrepMaterials.html • New advanced math exam is just one test, 150 multiple choice questions in almost 4 hours - http://www.orela.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/NT304_Profile.html • Basic/Middle School math also has a new test but the classroom assignment options remain the same http://www.orela.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/NT203_Profile.html
