  2. Situation Géographique • Le Mont Everest est situé au Népal, petit pays entouré par deux autres grands Pays, la Chine au nord (Tibet) et l’Inde au sud. • Le Mont Everest est situé dans le massif de l'Himalaya. • Le Mont Everest est né entre le sous continent indien et le continent asiatique.

  3. Caractéristiques • Altitude : 8 850 mètres. C’est le plus haut sommet du monde. • Coordonnées : 27° 59’ 18 ’’ Latitude Nord 86° 55’ 31’’ Longitude Est • Températures : Il fait très froid : de – 19 ° en juillet à – 60 ° en janvier : L’Everest est surnommé « le troisième Pôle ».

  4. La roche, la flore et la faune • La roche : métamorphique, granitique et enfin, sédimentaire. • La flore : touffes d’herbes et petits buissons nains en bas, rhododendrons vers le sommet. • La Faune : seuls des oiseaux ont été aperçus vers les sommets (oie à tête barrée, chocard à bec jaune).

  5. Ascension • Le Mont Everest est de type pic pyramidale à trois faces. • La voie la plus facile : Le col sud depuis le Népal. • Première ascension : Le 29 mai 1953 par Edmund Hillary & Tensing Norgay.
