  2. Iris • A colored circular muscle • opens and closes, forming larger and smaller circles to control the amount of light getting into the eye.

  3. Pupil • The opening in the eye • Changes the size as the iris muscles move to cover and uncover the lens.

  4. Cornea • The clear outer covering of the eye • behind which is a fluid

  5. Muscle • The muscles within the eye socket, comprising the 7 muscles. • It helps close and open the eye socket.

  6. Lens • The part of the eye that focuses an object on the back of the eye. • The lens is a clear object

  7. Retina • The back of the eye. • Contains millions of receptors for light.

  8. Optic Nerve • Where all the nerve cells leave the eye • It’s where all the nerves are tied together

  9. Blind Spot • The portion of the retina through which the optic nerve exits and where there are no receptors for light waves. • You can not pick up light waves with the blind spot.
