  2. Computer usage is a critical part of everyday business at Baker Victory Services and the Information Services Department has implemented specific network drive use to store business related Data/Files/Applications. • Following is a brief summary of the network drives and their configurations. Please use these drives as they are intended. Maintenance of these drives is performed regularly for maximum confidentiality, security and efficiency. Unauthorized or misuse of these resources may lead to disciplinary action.

  3. There are several Network drives with different functionality at BVS... • H:\ Home • Q:\ Data • S:\ Shared

  4. H:\ Drive is your own home space on the network, in which only you have access with your logon credentials (unique username & password), to save “critical business related” data or information. This folder is backed up on a Daily basis. (Non business related data on this drive may be purged for maximum system efficiency).

  5. Q:\ Drive: is for authorized individuals within specific departments to share data. (Data must be contained within your departmental folder for full security/confidentiality). Data on the root of this drive may be purged for confidentiality or security reasons. • DO NOT create folders on this drive without prior consent from the IS Dept. This folder is also backed up on a Daily basis.

  6. S:\Drive: is a Shared drive available to all network users for "business related" files. Any files and/or folders on this drive are accessible to all users. They can be edited, copied, or deleted and are NOT secure! • Please use this drive with caution!! DO NOT place any confidential or non-business related information on this drive! DO NOT create folders on this drive without prior consent from the IS Dept. This folder is backed up on a regular basis. (Non business related or confidential data on this drive may also be purged for security, confidentiality, and efficiency).

  7. To access the Network Drives... • Double click My Computer from your desktop, or...

  8. You can Trace to the file menu and then Browse. This can be accomplished in any MS application.

  9. If you are unsure of the proper usage of these drives, please contact the HOC Information Services Department at 9738 and they will be happy to further explain their functionality. • All Baker Victory Services employees who require network access must first print out and then complete a Network Authorization Access Form (NAAF). It must then be returned to the HOC Information Services Department before rights can be granted. Link to NAAF if connected to network
