  2. What Are Ghosts? There are many different theories explaining what ghosts are, from being people who were in traumatic accidents, to just plain not knowing they are dead. No one can seem to agree on why they are here, or what their purpose is on Earth. Most think that they’re here to watch over their family, while some don’t even believe that they exist at all! Did you know that 37% of Americans believe that places can be haunted? That leaves 63% of the American population believing that ghosts don’t exist. I’d like to see their first paranormal encounter…  The percent of Canadians that believe in ghosts is 47%... a little higher, but that still leaves 53% that don’t. 18% say they’ve been in the presence of ghosts, and 9% say that they’ve lived in a haunted house!

  3. Why Are Ghosts Here? “Some are stuck here and some stay by choice. No one really knows a spirit's true intentions, we can only make assumptions. As long as they're friendly, no problems should exist. Like all other aspects of science, they have theories. The ghosts may have unfinished business, could not find the light, perhaps they are trapped, they might just want to look out for their family, etc. I am not sure why they are here, only when your dead could really answer that question.” ( This was written by btvs.wit… @ answers.yahoo.com about one year ago.) Here is a comment from a non-believer (also from answers.yahoo.com) “They will move on to the other side when you kick them out of your head. That is the only place they exist.”

You may notice voices and footsteps in empty rooms.
