Rules. Serving (part 1).  Players must keep one foot behind the back line when serving.  The serve is made underhand.  The server must hit the ball in the air on the serve ; he or she is not allowed to bounce it, then hit it.  Paddle must pass below the waist .

  2. Serving (part 1)  Players must keep one foot behind the back line when serving. The serve is made underhand.  The server must hit the ball in the air on the serve; he or she is not allowed to bounce it, then hit it.  Paddle must pass below the waist.  The serve is made diagonally cross court and must clear the non-volley zone. Both members of each team will serve and fault before the ball is turned over to the other team.  Only one serve attempt is allowed, except in the event of a “let” (the ball touches the net on a serve, but lands in the proper service court.  When receiving team wins the serve, the player in the right-hand court will always start play.  Points are scored only when serving

  4. Volley  To volley a ball means to hit it in the air without letting it bounce.  All volleying must be done with the player’s feet behind the non-volley zone.  The non-volley zone is a 7-foot zone on each side of the net which prevents players from performing smashes from this position.

  5. Double bounce  Each team must play its first shot off of the bounce.  The receiving team must let the serve bounce, and the serving team must let the return of the serve bounce before either team can begin to volley.

  6. Faults  Hitting the ball out of bounds  Not clearing the net.  Stepping into the non-volley zone.  Volleying the ball before it has bounced on each side of the net

  7. Scoring  A team can only score a point when serving.  A player who is serving shall continue to do so until his or her teammate commits a fault.  The game is played to 11 points; however, a team must win by 2 points.
