  2. Objective of the Session Provide you with a user friendly understanding of the hierarchy and chain of command in the Elks

  3. Grand Lodge Provides for our Very Existence The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the USA: The Order Local Elks Lodge: Subordinate Lodge A Duly organized group of Members of the Order which has been granted a Charter by the Grand Lodge as a Lodge of the Order

  4. Who or What Is The Grand Lodge? Best way to answer that is to look at the three (3) Branches of the Grand Lodge and where and to whom the Powers of Governance are vested

  5. Powers of Governance Legislative: Vested in Grand Lodge Its PGERs Its Officers, Members of Committees, & DDGERs All PERs in good standing in their respective Lodges ER or PER Representative of Subordinate Lodges Executive: Vested in the Grand Exalted Ruler Judicial: Grand & Subordinate Forums

  7. Recap 1. We exist through the Charter granted by Grand Lodge. Lose your charter and you no longer exist. Your duty as officers is to protect your Charter . 2. Should your Charter be yanked it would be done by the Grand Exalted Ruler through an Executive Order and by the hand of his Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in your District (the District Deputy or DDGER). 3. The above will only happen if it is requested by the PGER State Co-sponsors Grafton, Bates, & Smith. 4. You and your members can write all the complaint letters you want to the Grand Exalted Ruler (GER) and the Grand Secretary. However, please understand this: • If not signed they will be disposed of without even reading! • The GER will probably never read your letters as all his mail goes to his Administrative Assistant who immediately redirects the letters to the respective State Sponsor(s).

The Florida State Elks Association An organization of the 60,008 members of the 105 Elks Lodges in the State of Florida Formed in 1904, the Florida State Elks Association was organized to unite the Elks of Florida for the purpose of: Furthering the Order Strengthening the fraternal tie Encouraging sociability and good fellowship among the members Promotion of the general welfare of the Order in Florida Endeavor to help those less fortunate than ourselves

(Web site & Forum) A One-Stop Shop for All Your Questions – The FSEA State Secretary & Staff

  14. Some Lodge Oversight DDGERvisits each Lodge to Review Compliance with Grand Lodge Objectives District Vice President visits each Lodge to Review Compliance with State Association Objectives State President visits each District to Inspire and Share his Program Objectives for the Year
