  2. Introduction / Purpose • The purpose of Clear’s mobilized Wi-Fi SBU is to take the currently successful vision and scope of the company and expand into a mobile platform encompassing a wireless IT infrastructure that can be deployed and running in a matter of weeks and serve upwards of 10,000 computers instantly upon startup. Upon further R & D we hope to provide this service at the beginning of 2013, with a cost of 2 million dollars.

  3. Assumptions • Clear Inc is going to give free reign to the SBU for the R&D along with development of a wireless IT infrastructure with highly mobile capabilities. • The mobilized Wi-Fi SBU is in the process of developing a budget based on several looming projects. Currently projected at $2M. • Deliverables for the portfolio are: • Mobilized Wi-Fi Infrastructure serving 10,000 PCs at a minimum. • The Mobilized Wi-Fi Infrastructure will mirror the current Clear platform with the exception of the necessary attributes that make it mobilized. • An extensive walkthrough of all proposed projects and findings upon the SBUs initial stride. • The Portfolio Plan may change with negotiation as new information and issues are revealed.

  4. Portfolio Process • A project portfolio steering group will be responsible for proposing a project portfolio process that will include a reporting structure, growth strategies in different global market regions, current geographic markets, products and services, as well as other significant factors such as multilevel programs, multiple projects at every level of the company, as well as research & development and new product introductions.

  5. Portfolio Organizational Structure

  6. Project Selection Criteria • Our selection criterion is simple; each project within our SBU has to be in line with the SBU vision and overall business strategy of Clear. Important Aspects • Is this project a good fit for our organizations charter? • Is this project viable and able to be successful in completing our portfolio’s strategies? • Consider the environmental aspects of what we do, does this fit? • What resources will be required and how does this relate to our current employment roster? • What are the benefits both quantitatively and qualitatively to the company, to the customers, and to any other stakeholders? • What are the risks involved when taking on this project, can they be managed? • What are our strengths and weaknesses in terms of this project, can we efficiently take on this project or will it need to be contracted out? • What will this project add or bring in terms of a cost structure and timetable look like as it relates to our final objective?
