What is the National Junior Honor Society • Established in 1929 • The National Junior Honor Societies (NJHS) are the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school and middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serve to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginnings in 1929.

  4. What is the National Junior Honor Society? PURPOSE The purpose of the P.A.C.E. NJHS shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and citizenship, and to encourage the development of character in students of P.A.C.E. Academy.

  6. What are the duties of a NJHS member? The goal of NJHS is to build leaders and do service.  Other than that, the activities are up to the NJHS members.  Things like car washes, fundraisers, leadership retreats, and team building activities are all ideas that have been discussed, but plans will not be made until we meet with our current members in the fall.

  7. Duties (cont’) While participating in activities students must: • Maintain a high level of scholarship • Maintain a high level of citizenship • Make a commitment to serve and lead • Be a good reflection of the organization

  8. I’m interested…what are the requirements? To be CONSIDERED for membership: • Students must be in attendance at PACE Middle School for at least one semester • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5 as a PACE Academy student • Students cannot have more than three infractions for cellular device possession and uniform violations • Absolutely no suspensions • Application packet

  9. What are we doing this year? • Four community service projects school wide • At least two service field trips • Fundraise, Fundraise, Fundraise!! Questions???
