  2. Daniel 12 Looking at Last Day events in Daniel

  3. Michael Will Stand Up Dan 12:1 And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great ruler who stands for the sons of your people.

  4. Time of Trouble “And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation; until that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” Daniel 12:1

  5. Resurrection of Good & Bad People Dan 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

  6. Shining Bright Dan 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.

  7. This Prophecy is Sealed Up Dan 12:4 But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end.

  8. Running To & Fro Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4

  9. Two Angels Dan 12:5 Then I Daniel looked, and behold, there stood another two, the one on this side, and the one on that side of the bank of the river.

  10. How Long? Dan 12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen on the waters of the river: Until when shall be the end of these wonders?

  11. Time, Times & a Half Dan 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was on the waters of the river, when he held up his right and his left hand to Heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half.

  12. Scattering the Power And when they have made an end of scattering the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Daniel 12:7

  13. I Don’t Understand Dan 12:8 And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, O my lord, what shall be the end of these things?

  14. These Words Are Sealed Up Dan 12:9 And He said, Go, Daniel! For the words are closed up and sealed until the end-time.

  15. The Saints Purified Dan 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried.

  16. The Wicked Will Get Worse But the wicked shall do wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. Daniel 12:10

  17. 1290 Days Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the desolating abomination set up, a thousand two hundred and ninety days shall occur.

  18. 1335 Days Dan 12:12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

  19. Daniel Won’t See It Dan 12:13 But you go on to the end, for you shall rest and stand in your lot at the end of the days.

  20. Principles of Interpretation God said He was sealing up this prophecy until the very last days. Therefore, it is foolish to try and figure this out if you are not the one living in those very last days.

  21. Symbolic VS Literal Some things in Scripture are symbolic, and some are literal. For example, is the burning mountain that falls in the ocean A flaming meteor, or is it symbolic?

  22. No Private Interpretation Many churches have different interpretations of the symbols, So who is right? One helpful gauge is that Scripture is not supposed to be by “Private Interpretation.” That means God will reveal the true Meaning of the symbols to the entire church so that all who Need to understand will have the knowledge they need to respond.

  23. Conditional Prophecies Some prophecies are conditional, so how do we know which prophecies Still apply? For example, some say that all the prophecies that were Supposed to be for Israel were conditional, and now they apply to the church.

  24. Spiritually Discerned Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, so it is a mistake to think You can figure out what God is trying to say by your intellectual Efforts and intense Bible studies. The Pharisees were very good at extensive Bible study, but they Missed what God was doing at the First Coming.

  25. Chapter Splits Some books of the Bible talk about Last Day events, But the question is: How many of the verses really apply To the last days?

  26. Focus on Jesus A big mistake people make in studying last day events is They focus on the terrible things that are going to happen. Instead, we must ALWAYS put out focus on Jesus. After all, the most important book about Last Day events Is the Book of Revelation, which is all about what Jesus Is doing in the earth.

  27. Similar Verses There is difficulty in trying to decide if similar sounding verses Are talking about the same Last Day events. For example, several authors talk about the Day of Jehovah. Is that in the Last Days? Also, many authors talk about God gathering up the nations Of the world to punish them. Are they all talking about Armageddon?

  28. Bible Stories Some of the Bible stories don’t say they are about the last days, But we learn later on the Bible that they are parables of the last days, Such as Jacob wrestling with an angel. The question, then, are there other Bible stories that are symbolic of The Last Days, but we just didn’t recognize it? Is Joshua a parable of the Last Days? Ruth? Esther? Song of Solomon?

  29. General Signs When Jesus talked about Last Day events, he spoke in general signs: Many earthquakes and wars and violence.

  30. False Herrings Satan is smart enough to put out false herrings to keep us Off guard. Example: Patton in WWII sending out false radio messages

  31. The Long Delay Paul spoke as if the last days were in his time, even though we have 2,000 years of delay. The Bible talks about the “soon” coming of Jesus, but it also talks About the long delay. The Bible says ALL the saints will fall asleep because of the delay

  32. Positive Prophecies In the midst of all the terrible things that will happen in the Last Days, There are also many positive prophecies. Are these conditional? Is God saying that human actions can end up in a glorious future Instead of a terrible one? Or are there parts of earth that enjoy goodness But other parts in terrible violence, like in the days of Noah?

  33. The Big Themes The earth is going to become more and more chaotic There is going to be a polarization better saints and sinners Terrible times are coming, but also a greater presence of God to His people Massive Death and great fear The great evangelization of the earth A long delay A phony Christ will appear, demonic miracles, a great deception A death degree against God’s people God will first seal His people before allowing all the real horrors to be released A one world religion

Strange Verses In the study of Last Day events, there are some strange verses: 1- Satan in the grave, and he made the earth a desert and he Destroyed the earth –not God 2- Ezekiel’s temple 3- Whole nations coming to God in a single day 4- Israel as a nation will be grafted back in at the Last Days 5- Many verses about God’s fiery wrath and vengeance

Symbols for Last Days 1- Jacob wrestling with the Angel of the Lord 2- Jesus sleeping in a stormy boat 3- Parable of woman sweeping her house 4- Haman’s death decree against the Jews 5- Moses leading the Exodus out of Egypt 6- John the Baptist locked away in prison, distressed and confused 7- Noah building his ark 8- Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah 9- David fleeing into wilderness by an enraged apostate Saul 10- Job in great misery, crying out to God, and then 7 times better 11- A locust swarm –Joel’s army 12- A pregnant woman 13- A worn out coat 14- The destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in AD 70 15- Jesus sealed with the Spirit, but then driven into the wilderness 16- A wheat field coming to a full harvest 17- A thief breaking into a house
