  1. The Escape

  2. You awaken in your New York City apartment. A disease is spreading that nothing can stop, cure or prevent. Society has collapsed and riots are breaking out all over the city, as people try to escape the quarantine zone. Government is doing it’s best to maintain order by whatever means, even if that means martial law. You must somehow escape the city and get away from the disease. You decide to… Take whatever food you have and leave… Wait it out for a week…

  3. You gather a fair amount of food and leave as quick as possible. There are some riots, but not as many as you had imagine. Hopeless souls wander through the streets, which are empty by New York standards. How are you going to escape? Join some rioters and demand your escape…. Stay calm and wait for an opportunity…

  4. You’re the radical type, so you decide to join some rioters and demand freedom. You share your food with your new comrades, leaving you with little left, but new allies. Your new group wants to protest the “tyrannical occupation”. You… Demand your freedom… This has gone a bit too far… Slip out the back while no one is looking…

  5. You’re a true revolutionary… You decide to help the dissenters and bring the attack straight to the government. You group u in a line with signs and protest for your freedom (not illegal or violent) Governments usually don’t like being opposed with signs and shouting. You and your group are tear gassed and arrested, being put in a “prison”. At least you get food and a bed. It actually isn’t so bad. You’re tested and apparently immune to the disease. The end…

  6. 3 weeks later you are released. The epidemic turned out to simply be the common cold. The death and infected statistics were apparently extremely exaggerated. Everything returns to the way it was, and people seemed to forget everything that happened in the past month. The end. Back to beginning.

  7. You slip away from your previous group of dissenter comrades and head back into the streets… You give most of your food to them, with nothing to show in return. You notice that they have all been tear gassed and arrested. You’re starting to get fairly desperate. What is your next move? See what this stranger in the alley has to offer… Try to swim from the island… Desperate, but just might work.

  8. You’re a calculating type, so you calmly bide your time for an opportunity to escape. A few days pass without any such opportunity. Your food is running a bit low. Police and government are keeping tight control on everyone. Time to act. There aren’t many choices. Where should you go from here? See what this stranger in the alley has to offer… Being calm was misguided. Time to fight.

  9. You take it slow and wait for a week. You carefully ration food and water out throughout the week, leaving about a week left. It will not last forever. Suddenly, you here loud pounding at your door. Your neighbors know you have food, and want you to “share” with them. “Share” meaning they take all of your food and sack your apartment for all it’s worth. It’s amazing how fast old friends become bloodthirsty enemies when in dire straights. You quickly…. Open the door and offer them a can of beans, hoping they won’t search your apartment for the rest… Grab all that you can and escape out the fire escape…

  10. You open the door and throw out a single can of beans. The second the door was open, they push through and trample you. When you wake up, you’re apartment is completely empty, but there is hope. A small cache of food was not found. There is no use staying. Time to leave. See what this shady looking figure in the alley has to say… Join a group of rioters and fight for your freedom…

  11. You’re a radical, so you decide to try to join up with some rioters. With little food to offer, They decide to let you join, but you are forced to join their protests. Fine… No thanks…

  12. You refuse their offer, but they will not just let you leave. They take all of your food and leave you in an alley. A stranger offers you some help, if you follow him. He looks a little bit insane. You get the feeling he is trying to rob you. Ignore him… Listen to him…

  13. You hastily grab everything out of the cabinets and caches, stuff it into a backpack and head down the fire escape. It was close, but you manage to escape. How should you proceed? Join a group of rioters and fight for your freedom… See if this stranger in the alley has a plan…

  14. It’s a desperate plan and pretty much impossible to achieve, but you decide to try to swim from the island, to freedom. This is your final option. You have no food. No one will help you. Protests are pointless. You take all day to memorize the Coast Guard patrols around the island. Do you… Try it during broad daylight… You’ll probably be seen, but at least you won’t freeze. Wait for the night, making you harder to see, but the water will be ice cold…

  15. You don’t care if you are found or not. Without another thought you jump into the water in broad daylight. You swim for 10 minutes at a snails pace, trying to conserve energy, and make less noise. When patrols are about to come by, you dive under the water. Apparently, others had your plan as well, as you see others being plucked from the water by patrol boats. You see an old friend on one of the boats. Should you try to help them? Absolutely not. I have to save myself… Yes, you won’t just leave them behind…

  16. You take your time, and wait until the dark of night to dive into the frigid water. It is so cold, you feel you may freeze in a matter of minutes. Your limbs are going numb and you’re starting to pass out. You don’t even notice the search beam right on you. You’re picked up by a patrol… Oh no…

  17. There is not time to save your friends. You push onward. The coast is getting nearer and nearer with each minute. You manage to stay alert, and hide from the patrols. Your plan is a success. Pulling off the impossible, you make it to the shore. New York State. You have successfully escaped. Back to beginning…

  18. You’re a brave, admirable person, so you try to help your friends escape. You swim up to boat and grab on. You slowly pull yourself in unnoticed, all sound concealed by the motor. There are 3 Coast Guards on, including the pilot. There are about 10 or 15 prisoners, hands and feet shackled together. What should you do? Blend in with the prisoners and slip the keys from the guard when they aren’t looking… Charge them…

  19. For trying to escape the quarantine zone , you are captured and sent to a prison. It was a daring plan, but ultimately failed. 3 weeks later you are released. The epidemic turned out to be a simple outbreak of the common cold. The death and infected statistics were apparently extremely exaggerated. Everything returns to the way it was, and people seemed to forget everything that happened in the past month. Back to beginning…

  20. You carefully blend in unnoticed with the rest of the prisoners. Getting the key from the guard was much harder. They notice and shackle you as well. It was a good try, but didn’t go unknown for long. Oh no…

  21. Without a moments hesitation the Coast Guards arrest you and take you back with the rest of the prisoners. A brave plan, but failed. Oh no…

  22. The stranger talks of a plan to escape. His friend has a small inflatable boat ready and able to sail 3 people off the island. They have been memorizing the Coast Guard patrols for 3 weeks without any food. Just share your food, and he will let you join them. This seems strange to you. Many questions run through your mind. Why are they waiting so long to leave? Why do they need 3 people? Why not just leave? Where did the boat come from? Should you trust him? Trust him… Run away…

  23. With seemingly no other option, you trust the stranger. He takes you to the coast where you will all escape. You share your food and water. They seem friendly enough, for now, but you are still skeptical of their intentions and this plan. They tell you all you need to do is row when we tell you. They ask “Should we go during the night, or the day.” Day… Night…

  24. You decide to go now, during the day. There is no benefit from going in the day, only negative. You are all immediately spotted, it being broad daylight. You are the first to be captured, for the others have jumped off and abandoned you, but are eventually rounded up. You are all sent to a prison. Oh no…

  25. You all wait for the darkness of the night to escape. There are 2 benefits for leaving during the night. Decreased visibility, and everyone else has the same plan; leaving at night. The patrols will be distracted. Dressed in all black, you ready for a daring escape. Time to leave. Your 2 new friends apparently did know what they were talking about when they said they memorized the patrols, for they knew right when and where they would appear. However, one patrol boat took a strange path. It’s searchlight quickly shoots in your direction, close to you. Jump off and swim to escape… Duck down and hide…

  26. It seems you have been caught. You jump off the boat and swim as fast as you can for the shore. You become tired in an instant. Contrary to what you thought, It seems the spotlight wasn’t on your boat, but on another group of people trying to swim to the shore. Your 2 “friends” on the boat are already gone, escaped. You, however, are rounded up with the rest of the swimmers. Oh no…

  27. You quickly duck and hide. You see the spotlight go right past you and on to a group of swimmers. The patrols are now distracted and you are hidden. You and your group row as fast as you can. Lucky you didn’t jump off the boat, for you make it to the shore and escape. Back to the beginning…
