  4. We will cover • WAIK • WDS • MDT • WSIM • Unattended.XML

  5. The basic’s • Windows uses XML files during install • Unattended.xml (autounattend.xml) • Use WSIM to create/edit them • WSIM is a part of WAIK and OPK • Put the file in the “right” location • Cmdline, WDS, Folder, USB stick

  7. Deploying Windows using WDS • Meet our friend Mr. PXE • PXE is provided in WDS • WDS is included in Windows Server 2008(R2) • Also available for Windows Server 2003 • WDS = Windows Deployment Services • PXE = Pre Execution Environment
