First Announcement International Workshop on Wound Healing and Angiogenesis 14th – 15th December 2013 Anna University, Chennai, India Sponsored by European Union – Marie Curie FP7-PEOPLE-2011-IRSES - INTERBONE (Participating countries - Italy, The Netherlands, Brazil, India, USA) Blood vessels are the first organ to develop in the embryo and they constitute the largest network in the body. Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones, is an essential step during wound healing. However, when unregulated this phenomenon has deadly consequences affecting multiple organs including the bone. This workshop takes a comprehensive look at the status of research and clinical perspective in the field of wound healing.
