You do the math… Good Grades + Extracurricular Activities + Volunteer work– (poor attendance + discipline problems) = Grants, Scholarships, Financial Aid, College • CBA has 28 athletic teams • CBA has over 20 student clubs • Last year, CBA seniors earned over $4 million in grants & scholarships • WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO GET INVOLVED???

Future-Ready Core Diploma (FRC)Minimum 24 Credits • ENGLISH - 4 ( I, II, III, IV) • MATH – 4 (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II & 1 More Beyond Alg II) • SCIENCE – 3 (Earth/Environ, a Physical Science, Biology) • SOCIAL STUDIES – 3 (World History, Civics/Econ, US History) • HEALTH/PE – 1 Course #90112 • ELECTIVES – 6 (2 from CTE, the Arts, Foreign Language) + (4 recommended from CTE -or- JROTC -or- Arts -or- any academic area) • FOREIGN LANGUAGE (2 credits required for application to ALL NC public universities and (optional) MOST independent/private colleges) • ELECTIVES – 3 (Additional electives from any area) • Graduation Project

In case of a tie, the unweighted GPA will be used.

Honors Programspp. 6&7 • Valedictorian- The highest ranked student determined by QPA at the end of the 3rd quarter • Salutatorian- The 2nd highest ranked student determined by QPA at the end of the 3rd quarter Honor Graduates • Unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher through the end of the third grading period of the senior year Marshals • The top 7% of the students in the junior class using the QPA. • Announced at the end of the third nine weeks of the junior year • Chief Marshal- The highest ranked QPA in the junior class • Assistant Chief Marshal- The second highest QPA in the junior class. Ties broken using the GPA.

  12. Honors Programs (cont.) Academic Recognition Principal’s List: All A’s in all courses. A Honor Roll: Overall average of 93.0 with no grade below 85. B Honor Roll: Overall average of 85.0 with no grade below 78. National Honor Society • 11th and 12th grades • QPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of computation • Point system includes service to the school/ community, character, and leadership. • Attendance at current high school for one full semester prior to being considered for induction. • New members are considered for membership following the third grading period of each academic year. • Must maintain a QPA of 3.5 or higher, participate in chapter/ individual service projects and maintain a clean discipline record for continued membership NC Academic Scholars Program: FRC Diploma + courses in red + unweighted GPA of 3.5 English I, II, III, and IV Mathematics: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and a higher level math course with Algebra II as a prerequisite Science: Earth/Environmental Science, Biology, and either Chemistry or Physics Social Studies: World History, Civics & Economics, and U.S. History Second Language: 2 units of the same language PE/Health: 1 credit Career-Technical Education: 1credit Dance, Music, Theatre Arts, or Visual Arts: 1 credit Electives:at least 2 second-level or advanced courses

Go to www.cfnc.org Login to your account Go to “My CFNC” (blue tab) Select “High School Planning Portfolio” Scroll down to “Your Plan of Study” “Create your course plan” “Create a plan of study from scratch” Enter all courses/ grades from transcript Return to “My CFNC” (blue tab) Select “High School Planning Portfolio” Scroll down to “Extracurricular Activities” & update
