What is PBAS & API ? • PBAS stands for Performance Based Appraisal System • API : short form of an Academic Performance Indicator : A point-based system to assess and regulate academic performance teachers in Higher Education System in India. • API is part & parcel of PBAS DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY SANGAMNER COLLEGE 25August2012

WHAT REFLECTS API • Published Papers in • Articles / Chapters published in Books • Full Papers in Conference Proceedings • Books Published • Ongoing and Completed Research Projects • Papers presented in Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Symposia etc. & • API also emphasizes on based teaching-Learning.   9. The contradictions and paradoxes arises Because --- • Books • Conference Proceedings • Research Projects • Papers presented in Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Symposia etc. --- never reach to commons • journals DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY SANGAMNER COLLEGE 25August2012

CATEGORY: II: CO-CURRICULAR, EXTENSION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RELATED ACTIVITIES • Activities such as Survey, Educational Tours, Industrial visits. • Visits to social / political Institutions viz. Zillah Parishad/ Gram • Panchayat/ Municipal Councils/ Corporation / Reformative Home • Assembly / Parliament. • Industrial Training programme. • Workshop, Placement Cell etc. DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY SANGAMNER COLLEGE 25August2012

CATEGORY: II: CO-CURRICULAR, EXTENSION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RELATED ACTIVITIES • Activities such as Cultural Programs, Sports Committee. • Celebration of Birth / Death Anniversary of national leaders or Local Dignitaries. • Celebration of special days viz. Science Day, Teachers Day, Consumer Day, Population Day etc. • Wall-paper publication, Exhibition of Cuttings, Publication of Survey Highlights, • Community work such as values of National Integration, Environment democracy, socialism, Human Rights, peace, scientific temper; flood or, • drought relief, small family norms etc. (5 pts. each) DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY SANGAMNER COLLEGE 25August2012

Nature of Media Purpose of Media Print Media – Newspapers and Magazines Electronic Media: Cinema, Radio and TV + cable , Internet – blogs, web pages etc. Mass media Newspapers and Magazines, Cinema, Radio and TV + cable , Internet. WEIGHT TO MEDIA • II : CO-CURRICULAR, EXTENSION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RELATED ACTIVITIES (25 points) (iii) Professional Development Activities • Publication in newspaper, magazines, etc. ( Not covered in category III) • Radio talks, TV programmes etc. • Each of these activity carries the weight of just 1 point. • And the limit is 10 points !!
