  2. Effluent Filter Requirements ANSI/NSF Standard 46, and Flow Rated 1 ½ Times the Required Septic Tank Capacity; or 1000 Gallon Tank Capacity – 1500 GPD Filter 1250 Gallon Tank Capacity – 1875 GPD Filter Be Approved by the Department

  3. 4. Outlet Filters shall be located in: A) A Single Septic Tank when not used in series;

  4. 4. Outlet Filters shall be located in: B) The Second Compartment of Two-Compartment Tanks;

  5. 4. Outlet Filters shall be located in: C) The last compartment of the last tank when two (2) or more tanks are used in series; or

  6. 4. Outlet Filters shall be located in: D) A Secondary Watertight Structure Located after the last Septic Tank.

  7. 5. The Outlet Filter housing shall: Provide a Minimum Scum Space of Six (6) Inches; and

  8. 5. The Outlet Filter housing shall: B) Include a gas deflection device.

  9. 6. Outlet Filters shall be: A) Installed according to manufacturer’s recommendations;B) Placed to allow accessibility for routine service without entering the tank C) …remain in service for the life of the septic tank.
