  5. Council/counsel • Council – (n.) a group of people that advise on an issue. • Counsel (v.) to advise, (n.) advice

  6. Councilor/counselor • Councilor – (n.) one who sits on a council • Counselor – (n.) one who gives counsel or advice.

  7. Principal/principle • Principal – (adj.) primary or first, (n.) a school administrator • Principle – (n.) an idea or doctrine

  8. Peace/piece • Peace – (n.) harmony or freedom from war • Piece – (n.) a part or fragment of something

  9. Than/then • Than – (conj.) used in a comparison • Then – (adv.) tells when in a sequence of events

  10. Weather/whether • Weather – (n.) the condition of the atmosphere • Whether – (conj.) introduces another possibility

  11. Who/which/that • Who – (pronoun) refers to people • Which – (adj., pronoun) refers to animals and nonliving things • That – (adj., pronoun) can refer to people, animals, or things

  12. Who’s/whose • Who’s – contraction for “who is” • Whose – (pronoun) possessive pronoun, shows ownership
