Summary I read the story The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry. This story takes place in the Amzone rainforest where lots of butteful animals live. A man and the Kapok tree are the carecters in the story. T he man came to the Amzone rainforest and tried to cut down the Kapok tree. If he cut it down all the animals would be homles .I rate this book 10 out of 10 trees because you can learn about all the animals. Text To Text Connection • I made a text to text connetion with the books called The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry and Our Tree named Steve by Alan Zewible. I found out how they are the same. The first one is that the man in The Great Kapok Tree wanted to cut down the Kapok tree but he learned that the kapok tree was a home to many animals in the rainforest. It can relate to the book Our Tree named Steve because 3 little kids just loved Steve and Steve loved them , too. They used Steve in many ways like they used him to hold the tier swing and they played jump rope with the tree and more. This is my connection.

But lots of animals perswade the man not to cut down the tree because lots of animals live in it . I can relet to this book because there is a butteful tree that grows in a park that is by my house. I always clime on it and I would never want it cut down. That is my conection.
