  2. EuroVIP project aim “ To improve the competitive position of European maritime SMEs through the creation of effective collaborative and co-ordinated partnerships for the exchange of service, technology and information advances and innovations from industry and academia”

  3. EuroVIP partners: 18 + 14 • Seven SMEs: HSVA, IPPT, Marin, KSTP, PIAP, S@S, SSPA • Three Large Enterprises: Atkins, Babcock, Arsenal do Alfeite • Two universities: UoS, ZUT • Six associations: AIN, DM, EMEC, GESAD, GICAN, SMI • Participant group: currently 14 partners, aim to expand

  11. The collaboration portal http://emp.brookesbellsystems.com/ A web-based facility that includes a repository of collaboration partners, innovative STI exploitables, providing a unified search and retrieval mechanism of the available resources, and configuration of partnership.

  12. The Collaboration Portal will provide • European Maritime Community research output dissemination • Global visibility and relationship development support • Up-to-date on latest developments • Provisions reviewed and rated by users • Provide recommendations based on areas of interest

  13. The collaboration portal - Features • Search (Contextual + Smart) • RSS feed/notification for areas of interest • Integration with search results(facilitation of actions) • Reviews provided for services/technologies/projects (Amazon.com model)- post collaboration rating

Conclusion • The portal provides added value (compared to internet search) • Collecting information from participants • Involvement with the community • Developed for the community • Access to the right information at the right time is the key to success. • Full dynamic partnership integration from search to delivery.

Opportunities for involvement • Portal still in development – can implement facilities needed for your business, adapt to the needs of the BESST • Become a member of the participant group: • use the portal, submit user feedback • gain access to all of the facilities, influence its development to suit your needs • Or simply register in the portal and use its main features

Participant group • No contractual obligations to the project. • Free marketing and exposure. • Free access to the EuroVIP events and systems inc. a Virtual Integration Platform (VIP). • Facilitated expansion of collaboration potential. • Will be invited for project shows, workshops, and demonstrations. • Will be informed of project advances through newsletters. • Will constitute as a potential collaborative partner.

  25. Status • Currently open to project partners, participant members and all registered users (registration initiated by contacting us at eurovip@strath.ac.uk) • Planned public release June 2013
