Department of Homeland Security • Agencies now sharing one department: • US Coast Guard (USCG) • Secret Service (USSS) • Presidential Protection • Cybercrime • Counterfeiting • Transportation Security Administration (TSA) • Federal Air Marshals • Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) • US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

  3. Justice Department: Domestic Law Enforcement. • Primary Agency: • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) • Two main functions: • 1. Intelligence gathering (Domestic Terrorism) • NOW THE PRIORITY OF THE AGENCY • 2. US Department of Justice • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) • Primary focus is gun control • Terrorism has lead to more work in explosives • Alcohol and Tobacco are heavily taxed and tax evasion is a major problem • United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) • Both legal and Illegal drugs • United States Marshals Service (USMS) • The Police force for the courts • Serve warrants • Catch fugitives
