  2. My name is Cherie Gans and I am a Spanish teacher at Enterprise High School. The students will research and create a PowerPoint presentation they will narrate in Spanish on the state of their choice. CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology

  4. Outcomes The sun started to shine again! I learned the following: • Graphing with Excel • Web page creation in Netscape Composer • Linking pages and projects • PowerPoint • Excel • Downloading and Uploading techniques CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology

  5. Student Success! • High interest for students--themselves traveling • Meets standards • Practice speaking, writing, reading in Spanish • Experience a culture--up-to-date! • Become familiar with our neighbor to the south! CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology

  6. Shortcomings • Students got distracted when researching their state • Some Mexican states had very little info on Internet • Teacher needed more time to help each student • Photos and PowerPoint took lots of time • Students nervous CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology

Summary • This project helped fulfill a desire of mine--for my students to use the Internet for current information. • The class was an excellent review of Excel and PowerPoint and taught new computer skills. • This will be a doorway to other teachers’ lessons I want to do. • I’m hopeful that students will find my lesson a interesting way to get acquainted with Mexico!
