2. Bobcat Rank Requirements The Bobcat rank is the first rank that EVERY boy earns when entering the Cub Scouting Program. The Bobcat rank requirements are meant to demonstrate that the boy is making a commitment to participating in the scouting program. In 2006, the Bobcat rank became the first rank earned by all Cub Scouts, including Tigers. The Tigers had their own motto, but up until 2001, they just use the Cub Scout motto. WE3-25-09

Bobcat Rank Requirements The new Cub Scout wants earning the Bobcat rank that he should learn and understand the following: The CUB SCOUT PROMISE: "I .....(name).... promise to do my bestTo do my duty to God and my country,To help other people, andTo obey the Law of the Pack. “ Meaning of the Cub Scout Promise: Duty to God means: Put God first. Do what you know God wants you to do. And my country means: Do what you can for your country. Be proud that you are an American. To help other people means: Do things for others that would please them. Obey the Law of the Pack means: Be a good Cub Scout. Be proud that you are one. WE3-25-09

Bobcat Rank Requirements The LAW OF THE PAC "The Cub Scout follows Akela.The Cub Scout helps the pack go.The pack helps the Cub Scout Grow.The Cub Scout gives goodwill.“ Meaning of The Law Of The Pack: The Cub Scout follows Akela (say Ah-KAY-la) means: Akela is a good leader. Your mother or father is Akela. In the Pack, your Cubmaster is Akela. Your Den Leader is Akela. At school, your teacher is Akela. The Cub Scout helps the Pack go means: Come to all the meetings. Do what you can to help. Think of others in the pack. The Pack helps the Cub Scout grow means: You can have fun when you are a part of the pack. Learn things from others. Do things with them. The Cub Scout gives goodwill means: Smile. Be happy. Do things that make others happy. They don't have to be big things. Little Things help, too. WE3-25-09
5. Bobcat Rank Requirements Also the he should know the following. What WEBELOS means: "WE'llBE LOyalScouts “ Show the CUB SCOUT SIGN.  Tell what it means. Make the sign with your right hand and with your arm held straight up. The two fingers stand for two parts of the Promise - "to help other people" and "to obey." They look like a wolf's ears ready to listen to Akela. Give the Cub Scout Sign when you say the Cub Scout Promise or the Law of the Pack. WE3-25-09
6. Bobcat Rank Requirements Show the CUB SCOUT HANDSHAKE. Tell what it means. Using your right hand, place your first two fingers along the inside of the other boy's wrist. This means that you help and that you obey the law of the Pack. Say the CUB SCOUT MOTTO. "Do Your Best" WE3-25-09
7. Bobcat Rank Requirements Give the CUB SCOUT SALUTE.  Tell what it means. Point your first two fingers of your right hand out straight and close together. Touch the tips of the fingers to your cap or if not wearing a cap then to your eyebrow. A salute is a way to show respect. When you salute a leader (either adult or other scout), you show him or her that you respect their position. When you salute the flag, you show that you are proud of your country. 8. Tiger Cubs Program Tiger Cubs is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. This program is an exciting introduction to the scouting program for first grade boys (or 7 years old) excited to get going! TIGER CUB SCOUT ACHIEVEMENTS Tiger Cubs do stuff - lots of stuff - with their adult partners. WE3-25-09

Tiger Cubs Program The Tiger Cub Totem requirements are: Learn the Cub Scout Motto Learn the Cub Scout Sign Learn the Cub Scout Salute The Tiger Cub badge is presented to boys who have completed all 15 parts of the achievements require following. Five Family activities, Five Den activities, Five Go See It outings. He can use the totem to display his achievement beads as he earns them. WE3-25-09

12. Wolf Cubs Program Wolf Cubs is a portion of the boy scout trail, and the program is an exiting introduction to the scouting program for second grade boys (or 8 years old). WOLF CUB SCOUT ACHIEVEMENTS Wolf scout prepares to begin his Bear rank after he completes second grade. Wolf scout prepares ready to perform a couple of Skits and lead the pack in some Games. By having a Wolf favorite ready, he’ll look good, have fun, and increase their confidence through leading the pack. WE3-25-09

14. Wolf Cubs Program If hehadcompleted all the steps above he had earned hidWolf Badge. Next, he does some of the electives below to earn Arrow Points. When he haddone 10 electives, hewill earn a Gold Arrow Point. For each additional 10 he does, he’llreceive a Silver Arrow Point. WE3-25-09

17. BearCubs Program Bear Cubs is a portion of the boy scout trail, and the program is an exiting introduction to the scouting program for third grade boys (or 9 years old). BEAR CUB SCOUT ACHIEVEMENTS Bear scout prepares to begin his Webelos rank after he completes third grade. Bear scout prepares ready to perform a couple of Skits and lead the pack in some Games. By having a Bear favorite ready, he’ll look good, have fun, and increase their confidence through leading the pack. WE3-25-09
18. BearCubs Program Bear scout wants to earn Bear rank badge. He must completes 12 achievements out of a possible 24 of the 4 general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. In each group, a certain number of achievements are required to earn the Bear rank badge. After earning the Bear badge, he may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks. A gold arrow point is awarded for the first 10 achievement tasks over the Bear requirements. A silver arrow point is awarded for each additional 10 tasks completed. WE3-25-09

Webelos Scout Program Webelos is a 20 month program for 4th and 5th grade boys to prepare to join a Boy Scout troop while learning outdoors skills and participating in 20 different activity badges. we gradually give them more tasks to do, such as taking attendance, checking uniforms, leading flag ceremonies, making announcements, preparing snacks, planning Webelos activity badge outings, organizing campouts, and leading entire meetings. We concentrate on having more patrol games, contests, and skill-building rather than activities directly related to an activity badge at our den meetings. WE3-25-09
23. Webelos Program Webelos Program:The Webelos program has two major milestones - the Webelos rank and the Arrow of Light. The final part of Webelos is bridging over into a Boy Scout troop. Patrols: For Webelos , a patrol is just another name for the den but it does have some significance. Boy Scouts are organized into Patrols, each with their own name, flag, yell, leader, and emblem. As Webelos, a den can begin to operate as a patrol and select an emblem for their uniform, make up a yell, name, and flag. This can really get the scouts to become a team. Taking their flag along on a campout or hike and announcing themselves with their yell is pretty fun. WE3-25-09

25. Scout Rank The first rank of Boy Scouting can be earned as soon as a boy joins a troop, especially if he has earned his Arrow of Light as a Webelos scout. 26. Second Class Rank Second Class scouts work on building their outdoor survival and camping skills. Compass work, nature observation, camp tools, and swimming are areas where new skills are mastered and demonstrated. A second class scout, having completed all the requirements, should be able to lead a hike, care for his own equipment, set up a campsite, and perform basic first aid. 27. First Class Rank When the First Class rank is attained, a scout has learned all the basic camping and outdoors skills of a scout. He can fend for himself in the wild, lead others on a hike or campout, set up a camp site, plan and properly prepare meals, and provide first aid for most situations he may encounter. A First Class scout is prepared. Individual requirement items for Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, and 1st Class ranks may be worked on simultaneously depending on your program offerings but the ranks must be earned in the proper sequence. 28. Star Rank Up through First Class rank, a scout was busy learning skills and becoming a self-sufficient scout. He now moves from being a learner to being a leader. The Star rank is attained with participation, leadership, service, and self-directed advancement through merit badges. 29. Life Rank Continuing to develop leadership skills, the Life Scout rank is earned by fulfilling additional leadership positions, service hours, and merit badges. A Life Scout is expected to be a role model and leader in the troop, providing guidance to new scouts and helping the troop however he can. Being a good leader can only be learned by doing and troop leadership positions allow the scout to make decisions, lead discussions, and encourage others. 30. Eagle Scout Rank Attaining the Eagle rank is often the end goal of a scout and his parents. It looks good on a resume and shows commitment to a program over an extended span of time. But, just like each rank advancement before it, the Eagle rank is a major advancement milestone, but not the culmination of scouting. After reaching Eagle, a scout can continue to earn merit badges and be rewarded with an Eagle Palm for each 5 additional merit badges.
