  4. Do we organize nutrition clusters? Up to what level? Policy instruments

  5. Considerations • Provided for in the policy guide on nutrition in emergencies • Subject of DOH memo, also of NNC memo to NPCs on two occasions • Response network in place ???

  6. What the CO knows • Nutrition Cluster organized in Regions 7, 9, 10 (????); in Bohol, Zambo City, Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City, ComVal (????)

Nutrition Cluster organized • Region 2 – orientation on NiE and IFE and other clusters on 2-3 Feb 2011; no nutrition cluster; nut cluster in Santiago City by executive order • CARAGA – RNC Reso to create NutCluster – how to work with ND IV • ARMM – existent before RNC ARMM; under HEMS, includes NGOs, NNC not involved in meeting

  8. Nutrition Cluster organized • Region 11 – organized at regional level (regional DOH order); all LGUs encouraged to organize nutrition clusters • Region 7 – RNC/TWG for response; RNC reso requesting RDRDMC and DILG to push LGUs to create Nutrition Clusters

  13. Need MUAC tapes/CO to arrange supply for ROs • CO to coordinate with NDRMMC on recognition of Nutrition Clusters at local level • CO to plan for training of MNAOs on NiE/IFE • NO III not trained on NiE to be pax in D/CNPC trainings

  14. Do we organize nutrition cluster? • Yes from regional up to barangay level • Region – RNC resolution by Jan 2014 • P/City/Mun/Bgy Nut Cluster –executive order; all prov and cities by June 2014 all the mun by end of 2014; all bgys by mid-2015

  19. What activities should the NNC CO and NNC RO do at various stages of a disaster/ emergency? Minimum service package as guide

  20. Prepare the regional nutrition response map == persons, roles, resources • Update the map per disaster • At the alert phase convene cluster meeting

  21. What scheme will we use for information management Refer to “nutrition cluster-prescribed” forms Who to accomplish? Submit to whom? When? Frequency? Up to when?

  22. CO to issue notes on the forms • CO and RO 7 to be in close coordination with each other on arrangements for the nutritional assessment

  23. Submit weekly financial report • Sched activities to complete PBB targets • Ensure use of funds by end of Dec 2013 • NIED to be advised on the need for materials for P4 PGN trainings
