  1. French Language Learning - French Learning for Kids Incorporating French During Routines and Transitions Everyday Moments: Incorporating French Language Learning During Routines and Transitions at Home An advantage of homeschooling is the everyday practicality of incorporating French to your children’s daily routines. Think outside of your home school space to include non-traditional learning environments! Let’s list some common routines that your children may encounter in both a school- and home-based setting:  Free play (Clean up), Meal times, Bathroom routines, Getting dressed for outdoor, play/wellness breaks, Nap time/quiet time You may find yourself singing alone at first, but rest assured that your children are listening and learning!  Experiment with different tempos, nuances, and volume since the French songs may be unfamiliar to you and your family.

  2. Full French, French Immersion - French Programs Ontario Full French, French Immersion, or Core French? Wondering which program is best for your child? To begin, you need to know that there is no “right answer” for everyone. The answer for your family, will be the choice that works best for you and your family’s situation. There are of course a variety of other reasons that may sway your decision (locations, specialty programs, environment, etc.), so please note that I am only commenting with regards to the various French learning programs. Full French : The child enters a Francophone school. All subjects are taught in French. French is the language of communication. Children attending French school are expected to come out with high levels of French comprehension & skills since it is the language of instruction.  Early French Immersion: The child enters a school run by the English school board. In this program, children learn French and also French is the language of instruction in two or more other subjects.

  3. French Springtime Activities - French Learning Classes For those who celebrate, Easter is just around the corner, so let’s “hop to it” and have fun with some crafts, activities, and games to celebrate the spring season all weekend long! Here are some fun activity ideas, followed by some helpful French Language Learning Classes vocabulary: Easter Egg Sun Catchers- This is a fun and easy craft for all ages! All you need is wax paper, paint, sponges and scissors. Pour a variety of paint colors (la peinture) on the wax paper and use the sponge to mix colors and make patterns. Easter Egg Letter Hunt- Place letters inside plastic eggs (either letter magnets or write them out on paper) and hide them around the house. You can even take this game outdoors! Have your child hunt for the eggs (les oeufs) and match the letters to an alphabet sheet. Great opportunity to practice “les lettres”! Easter Egg Exercise- Have various actions placed inside your plastic eggs. Pick an egg and do that exercise! Fun examples can be: “Saute 5 fois comme un lapin” (5 bunny hops), “Tourne 3 fois” (Spin 3 times), or “Saute aussi haut que tu peux” (Jump as high as you can).
