  1. At SOCO Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, our dentists specialize in comprehensive dental care for children, teens, and adults in South Orange County and give the best services of orthodontists, invisible aligners, and braces. Our Dental Home is a partnership between you, your child, your family, and our friendly staff. We’re committed to helping our patients create a healthy and beautiful smile through pediatric dentistry that they’ll be proud to show off. We hope to see you soon!

  2. Do you know if your kids are brushing properly? 🪥 Whenever we do 6 mo checkups the most commonly missed areas are the gum lines on the upper molars, the gum line on the lower molars near the tongue, and behind the lower front teeth. The proper technique is called the BASS method. You angle the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle at the gum line and brush in gentle circles covering all the surfaces of the teeth.

  3. Toothpaste companies advertise the whole toothbrush covered in toothpaste. That is wayyyy too much!If your child is 0-3 or can’t spit a grain size amount is recommended. This is actually REALLY small. If your child 3+ and or can spit a pea size amount is recommended. AGAIN this is still quite small....

  4. Our goal is educate our parents so they can prepare their children for a successful trip to the dentist. Here are a few tips:1. Role Playing- let your kids play “dentist” and learn the “tools.” We found a fun Play-doh kit at Target that allows you to make teeth, do extractions, fillings and put braces on.

  5. Do you struggle brushing your toddler’s teeth? Watch our videos for tips on how to brush your child with one or two person household. They can be found under our baby teeth tips highlight and our reels!

  6. 3 Ways to Make Brushing Fun At Any Age:1. Grab a sibling or BFF and brush while the other does your hair2. Pick a song and have a dance party for 2 minutes3. Pick out your own toothbrush and toothpaste that matches your personality!

  7. What is the most difficult part of braces?I personally think it’s getting the patient to wear their rubber bands towards the end of treatment. What I don’t think a lot of parents and patients understand is that braces can get the teeth straight in the arch but to get the bite to fit together correctly relies a lot upon the patient and wearing rubber bands.
