For thousands of years, there were no air-conditioners, no cars, no planes. Humans survived. There were no power-stations and factories spewing smoke into the air just so we can use electric fans, lights and synthetic fabrics. Our grandparents did refrigerators or air-conditions. They survived quite comfortably. People travelled, slowly, but what was the rush? Fields around the cities sent wheat, rice, pulses and vegetables on bullock carts. Earthen pots kept drinking water cool.
