  1. A List of 4 Best Reference Books on Forestry Here are 4 outstanding tree and forestry books that may make forest management easier and make forest and tree education more enjoyable. Even better, one of these books will help you prepare for and acquire a decent forestry career. These books were chosen because they have been shown to be extremely useful to forest and tree users. They were also chosen for their simplicity and ease of reading. Despite their publication date, they are frequently referred to and mentioned by tree enthusiasts, foresters, and forest managers. 1.Forest Ecology by S.S. Sagwal Forest Ecology is a well-written book on the subject. The book is divided into 22 chapters, each written by the author in a clear and concise manner. Wherever appropriate and feasible, relevant examples have been used to explain the facts and data. There has been a concerted attempt to focus on various areas of ecology. The plants and weather of India are diverse. The idea that man is a big destroyer of nature has been discussed countless times. A serious attempt has been made in this book to examine many topics concerning India. It is intended that the book will serve a significant function and cause people to become more aware of the connections between living creatures (forest issues) and the surrounding environment. The author is optimistic, if not outright certain, that the current work will be a blessing to readers and anybody else interested in the subject. In light of recent developments in Forest Ecology, six additional chapters have been included. 2.COMPREHENSIVE FORESTRY by R.L. Meena and Aadil A. Kazi

  2. The book would be the only one available in both English and Gujarati for RFO applicants. The examination for the selection of RFO is open to all those who have done their graduation in Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, and Engineering. With the exception of a few subjects, no graduate is armed with a thorough understanding of the forest and environment during his or her graduate education. As a result, this book will be mandatory reading for all candidates taking the RFO examination in particular, as well as all other competitive examinations in general. 3.21ST CENTURY BIOLOGY AND AGRICULTURE: TEXTBOOK SERIES (VOL. 1-4) by A. Raman This series focuses on self-directed learning to meet the knowledge demands of postgraduate learners in agriculture and biology. Keeping this in mind, these volumes would focus on current events in certain topics against a relevant, but brief historical backdrop, with suitable textual content interwoven with relevant images. Most significantly, these publications are designed to meet the self-learning demands of enthusiastic and dedicated students. The teacher's function shifts from tutoring to mentoring as a result of self-learning. Important facts have been ‘boxed' so that learners may simply, quickly, and permanently internalise them. Examples from the Indian subcontinent have been carefully included so that learners may readily relate to concepts and principles. The incorporation of particular case studies and interactive-mode of learning is the most important feature, as it allows learners to successfully learn about the day-to-day

  3. challenges and application of theory that surround the selected subject. Every effort has been taken to ensure that the books released as part of this series are easy to read and understand. 4.TREE BREEDING AND IMPROVEMENT: THEORY AND TECHNIQUES By K.T. Parthiban , N. Krishnakumar & P.S. Devanand Tree improvement and breeding are gaining popularity across the country as a scientific technique for increasing productivity and wood quality while also aiding the protection of Forest Genetic Resources. The science of tree breeding is relatively new, but it has recently expanded its reach in operational plantation development programmes. Tree Breeding and Improvement has also been included as a subject in many State Agricultural Universities across the country's Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programmes in Forestry. The number of text books on tree breeding is quite restricted, and most publications do not cover the practical elements of tree breeding. Thus, this group of intellects has tried to produce a comprehensive text book including all theoretical and practical elements of tree breeding which is required to students and tree breeding scientists. The book will serve as a ready reckoner for scientists and teaching faculties, not only for reference but also for application in all field level applications.
