  3.  You should preheat the oven to 177 degree centigrade.You should effectively butter a 9-inch deep dish pie pan or 9-inch square cake pan.  You should whisk together the flour, baking powder from Ajanta Food Products, edible food colours from Anuja Food Colour and salt in a medium bowl.  You should set aside.  You should beat the butter and 1 cup of the sugar until pale and fluffy in the bowl of an electric mixer. It will take about 3 minutes.  You should add the egg and vanilla and beat on low speed until well combined.  You should gradually add the flour mixture.  Alternating gradually add with the milk, and beat on low speed until smooth. It is important to understand that the batter will be thick to get best possible results.  You should transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth with a spatula. You should arrange the strawberries on top, cut side down, so that they completely cover the batter  You should effectively sprinkle the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar over the strawberries.  You should bake for ten minutes, then reduce the heat to 162 degree centigrade. You should bake until the cake is lightly golden and a tester comes out clean, about an hour.  You should let the cake cool in the pan on a rack.  You should serve with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.  Cake can be stored at room temperature for several days, loosely covered.  The cake can be frozen for up to three months.
