  1. Transport Chair or Wheelchair- which is best for Medical Transportation in NJ For medical transportation NJ, there are many different types of services available today. Some of the most common types of transportation options are medical wheelchairs and transport chairs. While they look somewhat similar in structure and shape, there are some stark differences between the two. A transport chair is essentially a mobile, light-duty device designed for being pushed by someone from behind. A wheelchair on the other hand can be propelled by the person that is sitting on it or it can be pushed by someone from behind as well. Here we are going to talk about some of the major differences between a transport chair and wheelchair, all the while deciding which can be a better option. Wheelchair Vs. Transport Chair: Which One Wins? Mentioned below are some of the major differences that these chairs tend to have. By knowing these differences, one might be able to decide which is the better option between the two. 1. Wheel Size It is really easy to differentiate between a wheelchair and a transport chair just by looking at the size of the wheel. Transport chairs are fitted with smaller wheels and that can’t be reached by the people sitting on the chair. On the other hand, the rear wheels of the wheelchair can be reached properly by the people on the chair. So, the wheelchair does seem to be a better option when it comes to the pushing mechanisms. 2. Braking When it comes to breaking, there is a very subtle difference between the two chairs. The transport chairs have their brakes attached right on the handles that are situated on the back of the chair. Hence, the people who are behind pushing the chair will be able to apply the brakes more easily. This allows more stability in

  2. navigation while traveling through the steeper slopes as well as some outdoor terrains. This is something that is not seen in wheelchairs. The ability to apply brakes is a bit tougher. 3. Ease of Handling When it comes to ease of use, the build of the wheelchairs is far better than the transport chairs since the design of the wheelchair is done by keeping the outdoor areas in mind. Hence, these wheelchairs are able to provide better service in the rough and outdoor terrains when compared to the transport chairs. 4. Level of Comfort One thing to keep in mind about the transport chairs and the wheelchairs is that the designs are not made after keeping comfort in mind. However, between the two designs, wheelchairs definitely tend to be more comfortable in nature. Hence, they are more suitable for longer durations of sitting. 5. Adjustability In the case of fine-tuning and adjustments in the chairs, wheelchairs tend to have more give than the other type. This is due to the fact that the design is much simpler and allows modification according to the needs and requirements of the patients. Conclusion While there are some areas where the wheelchairs tend to take the lead, there are some benefits to the transport chairs as well. Actually, it all comes down to the needs of the patients when it comes to medical transportation NJ. About the Author : Boomerangcare is a trusted, reliable Medical Transportation in New Jersey.
