I wasn't born here, neither is it the birthplace of my parents, but this is a city for everybody, from almost everywhere. A land of immigrants, a place where for many decades folks have come, lived, fought wars, traded and traveled on.

Delhi: Reasons Why I Love This City I wasn't born here, neither is it the birthplace of my parents, but this is a city for everybody, from almost everywhere. A land of immigrants, a place where for many decades folks have come, lived, fought wars, traded and traveled on. I just love everything Delhi has to offer. It is a place where the past has left indelible marks - signs of which is often seen today. Whether it be the Purana Quila, Qutab Minar or Humayun's tomb, the city has old and new historical monuments that notify many stories. India sustains twenty-eight states and almost every one of them is unique in their food, their traditional outfit, their celebrations, and language. Delhi is just about the one place to find a representation of people from every single state of the rest of India. It really is a great melting container of hard working people (reason one) who come to earn an improved living and increase the quality of their lives, for they know that it's a city of opportunities where people from all over are welcome. It belongs to nobody, there is not really anybody who's a true Dilli wallah! (A person belonging to Delhi). This city was chosen as the national capital of India in 1911 and last year it completed 105 years since the foundation was laid for the new capital city. It holds one of the best infrastructures in the nation (reason too) with wide roads, one of the very most sophisticated interstate bus systems, a well-connected intra-city rail system and other available options to go about within cities like Cabs/taxis and auto rickshaws. It is always milling with people, on top of energy and heading about their business. The trading and business community are the most prominent in Delhi besides being the seat of political power and
therefore being resident in all major Political institutions like the Indian Parliament and the Supreme Court. Almost all companies have their Headquarters positioned in Delhi or at least a Sales office. The weather is extreme, it gets extremely hot through the months of April-Oct and the summertime are excruciating for the unaccustomed. Winters, though short, are cold, although it does not snow here and you can easily pass off with a medium jacket, cap, and muffler. The time between November to March is winter in Delhi with mid-December to January being the coldest. New Years in Delhi are well-known for being foggy and with way too many automobile accidents in that one night. I've enjoyed many Delhi winters with bears fires and eating roasted peanuts and Jaggery sweets or maybe lazing under sunlight on the balcony. (reason three) One of the main reasons I really like this city is because of its lively culture and people. Although some folks find Delhites unfriendly, brash and loud, that is just their persona! They are actually large-hearted, hard working and friendly people, albeit loud in demeanor and may even seem to be pushy.
