  1. Queen’s Death- End of a Great Era: Who’s Next to Take the British Throne? A new era for the United Kingdom began with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. — But one that is rife with weakening national morale and economic insecurity. At 96, the queen was indeed the longest-reigning sovereign in British history. She passed away “peacefully” on Thursday at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, hours after medical professionals had raised the alarm about her failing health. After hearing the news, hundreds of thousands of Britons assembled outside Buckingham Palace in the pissing rain to express their condolences.
