  1. Celebrating a New Era of Impact: Highlights from the Global Bata Children’s Program Conference in Nairobi We're thrilled to share the incredible journey of our first-ever Global Bata Children’s Program (BCP) Conference, held last month in the vibrant city of Nairobi, Kenya. This landmark event marked a pivotal moment in our ongoing commitment to uplifting underprivileged children around the globe. Bringing together dedicated CSR leaders from 22 countries within the Bata Group, along with industry experts and community advocates, the conference underscored our collective mission: transforming lives, one step at a time. Since its establishment in 2010, BCP has been the cornerstone of our efforts to provide every child the opportunity to realize their potential and dream big.

  2. The three-day event was packed with enriching experiences and impactful dialogues. Here’s a closer look: Day 1: Celebrating Global Impact Our talented regional CSR coordinators kicked off the conference by showcasing BCP’s success stories from around the world. Their presentations highlighted the program's flexibility and its significant positive influence in diverse communities. Day 2: Collaborations and Storytelling The second day shone a spotlight on our fruitful partnership with SOS Children's Villages International through the "Youth Can" program, benefiting children in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Thailand, Colombia, and Peru. A riveting panel on storytelling followed, featuring insights from distinguished speakers like Fred Ojambo (BATA Kenya Board), Trish Sewe (Wildlife Direct), Joyce Kibe (Standard Chartered), Ana Gabriela Guerrero Serdan, PhD (Unicef), and Evelyne Serro (Safaricom PLC). Their wisdom and enthusiasm

  3. reinforced our resolve to empower children by forging strong community ties. Day 3: Mentorship and Human Connection The final day was dedicated to mentoring sessions for girls at the https://starehegirlscentre.sc.ke/, with whom we partner with since its creation and where our employee volunteers offered guidance on resilience, leadership, career paths, health, and well-being. These heartfelt interactions underscored the essence of BCP—making a tangible difference through personal connection and support. Beyond the day-to-day activities, the conference delved into strategic discussions on fostering sustainable communities, enhancing volunteer engagement, and optimizing our CSR initiatives for lasting impact. A special thank you goes out to the Bata Shoe Foundation, the Bata family, and our leadership team for their unwavering support and dedication to BCP. This conference has ignited new ideas and stronger collaborations, inspiring us all to continue building a world where every child can learn, grow, and thrive. Stay tuned as we continue this journey of transformation and empowerment, making a difference one step at a time.
