  2. Tooth Ache – Introduction • What is Tooth Ache? • Most kids and adults suffer from toothaches, but it's usually caused by decay. • Bacteria in your mouth eat the sugar and starch in your food, which creates a sticky coating that sticks to your teeth. • The bacteria then break down the acids in the plaque, which can eat away at the white enamel coating on your teeth and form a cavity. • You may first feel pain when eating something sweet, cold, or hot. If you have a toothache, it usually means your dentist needs to do something about it.

  3. Tooth Ache – Causes • What causes Tooth Ache? • There are many reasons why people develop tooth pain. Possible toothache causes include:- • Cavities • Abscessed Teeth • Cracked Teeth Damaged • Dental Restorations (Filling or Crown) • Brushing or clenching of the teeth (Bruxism) • Gum Disease

  4. Tooth Ache – Symptoms • Signs and Symptoms of Tooth Ache • Chewing can cause pain in the teeth or jaw, especially if it's hot or cold. • Eating sweet or acidic foods can also cause pain. • There's also bleeding or discharge around the tooth or gums, swelling around the tooth or jaw, injury or trauma, bad breath, fever, bad taste, and swollen glands.

  5. Tooth Ache – Action to be taken ] Self-care tips Until you can see your dentist, try these self-care tips for a toothache • If you're having an ache in your mouth, try rinsing it with warm water, flossing it with floss to get rid of any food stuck between your teeth, taking an OTC pain reliever, or applying a benzocaine-containing antiseptic directly to the affected tooth and gum. • Oil of cloves can also help, but don't put aspirin or any other painkiller directly on your gums as it could burn them. • It's important to remember that benzocaine can be dangerous, as it can reduce the oxygen your blood can carry, so don't use it in children under 2 without a doctor's supervision, as this is the age group most affected.
