  1. Drug abuse has always been a pervasive peril threatening to maim our society. Statistics show that it is the number one premature killer in California. A visit to any of the drug rehabilitation centers in California will affirm how deeply it has seeped into our society. So, are you also in California? Eric Clapton: He was a heroin addict to the extent that he once collapsed during one of his performances. Eric Clapton eventually realized the futility of his addiction and decided to go sober, which also led him to open the Crossroads Center for drug and alcohol treatment. Oprah Winfrey: She admitted to taking crack cocaine during the 80s. Oprah Winfrey, who is among the most followed celebrities in the world, has remained sober ever since.

  2. Eminem: Even rap star Eminem had to struggle with drug abuse until his friend Sir Elton John persuaded him to go sober and get a grip on his life. Jennifer Aniston, Steven Tyler, Matt Damon, Brian Welch, Robert Downey, Jr., Samuel Jackson, Charlie Sheen and there are many others who fought against addiction and managed to stay sober over these years.
