  1. Best New Rap Albums, videos, collabs, and more

  2. Migos preview Culture II with “Superstars” • “Superstars” is the third single off of the upcoming record, in addition to “Stir Fry” and “Motor Sport” featuring Nicki Minaj • As the title may suggest, “Superstars” is all about the flex: “Whole gang in the field, we don’t do bleachers” • Culture II is set to drop January 26th

  3. Kendrick, James Blake, Future, & Jay Rock collab • The unlikely group teamed up on “King’s Dead” for the Black Panther soundtrack • Kendrick is producing the entirety of the Panther soundtrack, which includes a collab from SZA and K.Dot • Black Panther is coming to theaters February 16th

  4. Lin-Manuel Miranda shares “Wrote My Way Out” video • “Wrote My Way Out” is part of the Hamildrops series in which Miranda creates visual sequels to The Hamilton Mixtape • The video shows Nas, Aloe Blacc, and Dave East rapping alongside Miranda about history and, of course, Hamilton

  5. Joey Bada$$ covered Prince’s “When Doves Cry” • The New York rapper re-titled the iconic track “When Thugs Cry” • Bada$$ performed the cover on triple J’s series Like a Version, where artists perform classics new and old • “When Thugs Cry” kept the original chorus, but included brand new verses

  6. Cardi B and Bruno Mars “Finesse” in new video • Cardi hops on a remix of Mars’ “Finesse,” which originally appeared on 2016’s 24k Magic • The video was inspired by 90’s sketch comedy series, In Living Color • The “Finesse” came in hot, right after Cardi B became the first female rapper to receive a No. 1 single (“Bodak Yellow”) in 19 years

  7. Migos, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B flex in “MotorSport” video • Migos sport a fleet of luxury cars while hip hop queens Cardi and Nicki deliver serious bars • The video is dripping in chrome, neon, and racing gear • “MotorSport” is a single off of Migos’ upcoming Culture II

  8. Dave East carries on tradition on Paranoia 2 • As the world of hip hop gets increasingly more hectic, Harlem’s Dave East stays true to New York’s musical past • P2 is rugged and real, especially with cuts like “Powder” and “I Can Not” • East continues to cater to soulful, lyrically-inclined hip hop heads
