  2. About Union Union University is one of the best Christian liberal arts colleges in the south. Union ranks number one on the list of 25 Best Christian Colleges and Universities in the South by 2017 by ChristianUniversitiesOnline.org. Union University is a private, Christian, four-year, coeducational, liberal arts-based university offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Founded in 1823, Union is the oldest institution affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Located in Jackson, Tennessee, Union also has extension campuses in Germantown and Hendersonville, Tennessee.
