  1. Do people really prefer food delivery apps vs. dining out? Have people stopped going out to restaurants? Maybe, not yet. Food deliveryapps compete with each other to gain a larger market share, offering greater discounts and offers. Has this made people think twice before stepping out to grab a bite? Popular opinion suggests a sharp drop in restaurant visitation numbers, at least as far as weekdays are concerned. The weekends see a good number of people out for a dinner with family/friends. The restaurants themselves have started advertising on digital mediums, advertising Sunday brunch offers and other such gimmicks to attract more people into the restaurants. Here are the top reasons why people still take the time and effort to step out to eat. 1.Special Celebrations Birthdays, anniversaries, New Year, Christmas and other public holidays still get families and groups out to eat. On special occasions folks want to do something different and special. Home cooked food, or simple the daily ambience of your home will not do on these days. These days are the ones that still keep the restaurant business going. Fortunately for restaurant owners, our country has so many public holidays and occasions to celebrate. If nothing else, sometimes people simply celebrate the fact that it is a holiday. 2. Weekend Treats Friday nights are probably the most popular time for restaurants. People simply out to celebrate the fact that the weekend has begun. Weekends also seem to be a popular time for family get- togethers. A home ambience and food ordered from food delivery apps simply won’t do. 3. Sunday Brunch Sunday brunch is a proposition that restauranteurs seem to promote with big offers and discounts. Another popular occasion for family and friends to get together for a casual lunch as opposed to ordering food home from a food delivery app. Restaurants also try to make these brunches coincide with happy hours to keep patrons on the premises longer, while getting them to spend more. 4. New Restaurant Openings A surprisingly good time for visiting a restaurant as opposed to ordering food from them via a food delivery app. The curiosity, offers, grand openings etc. seem to have made this a popular time to step out and eat. While still not as popular as some of the other reason on this list, it still seems to rouse people’s curiosity.

  2. 5. Ambience No matter what the benefits of ordering food online are, some eateries offer an ambience that is unbeatable. Occasion or not, sometimes you just need to get dressed, get out and have a good time. 6. Family Gatherings Oftentimes it is not possible for large families to be accommodated at home, and even if they could, extended families prefer getting together once a month or once a week over lunch or dinner outside. The ambience, the service etc. is what helps with the decision to meet out and share a meal rather than stay in and choose food delivery apps.
