  1. The Sanctuary And the book of Revelation

  2. Exodus 25:8 • And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 25:9 According to all that I show thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it].

  3. The Earthly Sanctuary: • Was made by Moses and the children of Israel on God’s instruction. God has a true Sanctuary in Heaven from which the pattern of the earthly was made – in miniature, as an object lesson. We need to be ready when Jesus comes so we can go to Heaven and be with God and enter the true Heavenly Sanctuary.

  4. Heb. 8:1, 2: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

  5. Psalm 102:19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;

  6. The Sanctuary: • To understand the significance of the Sanctuary we must study the earthly Sanctuary as it was here on earth and see the significance of all aspects of the Sanctuary. We must see Jesus in the Sanctuary. We will then be in a better position to truly understand its real significance and how it relates to our eternal salvation.

  7. Psalm 77:13: Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God?

  8. The Sanctuary had three compartments, each of which contained different pieces of furniture, all filled with deep meaning and symbolism.

  9. The Courtyard • In the courtyard was the ALTAR OF BURNT OFFERINGS (Exodus 27:1-8) ; the LAVER (for washing, Exo. 30:18-21); and the sanctuary building itself. The courtyard fence was made of white linen supported by 60 pillars (Exo. 27:9)

  10. The Holy Place • Inside the Holy Place were: • 1.”Table of Shewbread” (Ex. 25:23-30) = Jesus, “The bread of life” • (1 Cor. 11:24,25) represents our dependence on God for physical and spiritual food.

  11. The Holy Place • 2. “Candlestick” (Ex. 25:31-40) = Jesus, the light of the world (John 8:12). • 3.Altar of Incense • (Ex. 30:1-9).

  12. The Most Holy Place • The ark of the Covenant: was a chest overlaid with gold. The cover was called the Mercy Seat(Ex. 25:17-22). On it were carved angels of gold. Between the angels dwelt the presence of God.

  13. The Most Holy Place • Inside the ark were the 10 commandments, written on tables of stone (Deut. 10:4,5).The ark demonstrated both mercy & law. The law must be kept, but God promises mercy for His people who break it.

  14. The Sanctuary was set up in order to provide the institution through which the sacrificial system could be effected; that system pointed to Jesus Christ and when Jesus came the sacrificing of animals for sins was over – because the sacrifices all pointed to Jesus’ death, the one who would be the true Passover Lamb.

  15. Heb. 10:4 – 6: For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 10:6 In burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

  16. Matthew 27:50, 51 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

  17. When Jesus ascended to Heaven He entered another phase of His ministry for the redemption of mankind. He became our Heavenly High Priest! Heb. 9:11: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

  18. 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us]. • 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: • 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

  19. WHAT HAPPENED IN JESUS’ HEAVENLY HIGH PRIESTLY MINISTRY TO MARK AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TURNING POINT / ANOTHER PHASE OF HIS MINISTRY?

  20. The Bible makes it clear that after 2300 days (years) the Sanctuary would be cleansed… • This meant that at the end of the 2300 years prophecy Jesus would enter a new phase of His Heavenly High Priestly Ministry… • He would enter the Most Holy Place or, the Holy of Holies in the Heavenly Sanctuary… • And the Investigative Judgment began…

  21. 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

  22. Rev. 20:12: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

  23. We will be judged by the Law of God; the law will be the standard: James 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

  24. Rev. 14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Since the standard by which we are judged is the ten commandments, those who are obedient to God will overcome; their names will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life; Jesus will represent them in the Judgment – they have absolutely nothing to worry about!

  25. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

  26. Rev. 22:12: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

  27. HEBREWS 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. JESUS IS COMING SOON!
