Information as an Asset • Information is an asset so long as it has positive value to the enterprise • When the asset ceases to have value, it becomes a burden and needs to be divested • Information is a time-dependent asset • Value is retained over a defined time period, then diminishes • Value is dependent on the ability of the enterprise to discover, access, understand, and consume the information
