  1. Why SSL Certificates are Important? The SSL Certificate has been a basic requirement for any website since 2014. It authenticates the identity of a website and encrypts information sent to the server using SSL technology. SSL certificates are necessary for any website that wants to establish secure connections with web browsers. Any site without an SSL Certificate will show a “Not Secure” warning in the browser. In this article, we'll discuss the basics of SSL certificates and how they work to keep your site safe. What is SSL? Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol that provides security for communication over the Internet. Whenever you visit a website that has SSL installed, your browser will check if the site's certificate is valid. If it is, a padlock or key icon will appear in the browser's address bar to indicate that the connection is secure. SSL uses encryption to protect data during transmission, ensuring that only the intended recipient can access it. This makes it difficult for anyone to intercept and read the data, including hackers and eavesdroppers. SSL certificates are issued by trusted Certificate Authorities (CAs), which verify the identity of the website owners and ensure that the information contained in the certificate is accurate. When you visit a site that uses SSL, your browser will check the CA's database to make sure that the certificate is still valid and has not been revoked. If everything checks out, you'll see the padlock or key icon in the browser's address bar. There are different types of SSL Certificates some of the basic certificates are Domain Validation Certificate, Organizational Validation Certificate, and Extended Validation Certificate you can read more about other certificates in detail here. Most websites use SSL these days, especially E-Commerce sites where sensitive information is being transmitted. Any site that asks for personal information, such as credit card numbers or login credentials, should use an SSL Certificate.

  2. How does it work? An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that verifies the identity of a website and encrypts information sent to the server using SSL technology. SSL is a protocol for transmitting private information over the internet. SSL uses a cryptographic system that uses two keys to encrypt data – a public key and a private key. This can further be divided into Asymmetric and Symmetric encryption. In Asymmetric Encryption, the Public key is used to Encrypt and Decrypt the data whereas in Symmetric the public key is used to encrypt data while the private key is used to decrypt it. Other benefits of SSL An SSL certificate not only protects your data but also offers other benefits as well. For instance, an SSL certificate can help to increase your website's ranking in search engine results. This is because Google gives preference to websites that are secured with SSL certificates. In addition, an SSL certificate can also help to build trust with your website's visitors. This is because people are more likely to trust a website that is secured with an SSL certificate. SSL needs in today's world In today’s modern world it is extremely important for a Website to have an SSL Certificate that wants to transmit sensitive information. SSL is crucial for some Websites which include e-commerce sites, online banking, and any site that requires a login. SSL certificate creates a

SSL certificates are especially important for e-commerce sites. Not only do they protect customer information, but they also help to build trust. Customers are more likely to purchase from a site that has an SSL certificate than one that doesn't. In today's world, SSL certificates are essential for any website that wants to succeed.
