For almost every set of questions, there is a 200-250 words long passage. There are questions based on vocabulary and grammar too but they are lesser in number. English carries a weightage of around 28-32 marks so it is one of the crucial sections. Below you can find 5 powerful tips to ace English in CLAT- 1.Start Early- Owing to the intensive reading that is involved in the section, you must train yourself to read long passages without pausing. Picking up a new editorial every day and trying to finish it as early as possible while also understanding it can be a good practice. If you’re an avid reader, this section wouldn’t pose many difficulties for you. 2.Focus on vocabulary- Having a good vocabulary will give you an advantage of understanding passages quicker and easily. MLC’s English Vocabulary Nest book specially focusses on high frequency words which are pertinent to CLAT/OLETs exam. This book has been divided into several chapters such as synonyms, antonyms, one word substitution, manias, phobia etc. It is recommended to go through every word from this book. Other than that, Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis is a great book to build your vocabulary. Additionally, it is also recommended to make your own word list. It is also important to be aware about the synonyms and antonyms of various words. 3.Polish your grammar- CLAT has asked plenty of questions based on grammar. Tenses, Subject Verb Agreement, Modifiers and other such topics have been frequently asked. To attempt sentence correction questions, you must practice as much as you can Grammar book prepared by MLC has been specially crafted keeping the need of English Grammar in mind as English Grammar is a significant part of all the law entrance exam and therefore, all the important topics are cleared beautifully for easy understanding.
