  12. What is the OKcollegestart Electronic Transcript Exchange? The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education has contracted with Xap to provide high schools in Oklahoma the ability to electronically submit transcript data to post-secondary institutions

  13. The OKcollegestart Electronic Transcript Exchange aims to: • Help facilitate the application process for students attending college • Provide high schools with an opportunity to transmit transcripts more efficiently and affordably

Experienced Electronic Transcript Provider • Over 1.5 million transcripts have been transmitted electronically through the Xap Transcript Exchange since 2000 • More than 1,400 institutions participating • 8 statewide electronic transcript exchanges • Provider of the Complete Digital Package (online application and transcript together)

Paper vs. Electronic Paper transcripts • 35 million transcripts per year (HS to PSI only) • Cost: High schools $8 per transcript, PSIs $10-12 per transcript (National Center of Education Statistics) • Lost transcripts/Lack of confirmation tools • Electronic transcripts • Greater efficiency through electronic delivery • Decreased cost for processing and postage • Better verification processes

  18. Sending transcripts - Students There are two ways students can send transcripts to participating post-secondary institutions: • Release with Application • Transcript Manager

  19. Release with Application • By checking a box during the submittal process, students can attach their high school transcript to their online application

  20. Student Transcript Manager • Students can also send transcripts at any time during the year in the Personal Transcript Manager

  21. Student Transcript Manager • Students can authorize the release of all future versions of their transcripts

College Application Week Timeline • In 2005, one pilot school • 150 students submitted • 150 applications • In 2006, 15 high schools hosted an event • About 900 students participated • Over 1,000 applications were submitted • In 2007, 109 high schools hosted an event • 12,808 students participated • 21,445 applications were submitted • In 2008, over 400 public, private, charter, and home high schools. • 19,356 students participated • 37,903 applications submitted
