  3. BroadBand Company was unveiled to the media on July 8, 2009 at T1 Club in Industrial Area. Above, an usher waits for guests to arrive.

  4. On July 11, BroadBand Company was launched at Serena Hotel’s Victoria hotel. Above, Kwela Band members perform at the launch.

  5. Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service, Hon. Henry Kajura represented the Vice President, Hon. Gilbert Bukenya as the Guest of Honour at the launch

  6. Mr. Richard Bouma, CEO of PME Infrastructure, addresses guests at the launch. PME Infrastructure, a U.K. –based investment fund, is the major shareholder of TMP (U) Ltd., the mother company of BroadBand Company

  7. These gentlemen represented the ZTE Corporation in Uganda. ZTE is one of BroadBand Company’s biggest partners.

  9. A hotspot was set up for guests, like the one above, to test the BroadBand Company connection at the launch.

  10. Guests were treated to a performance by renowned Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa at the launch

  13. BroadBand Connect Kololo was launched at the end of July. BroadBand Connect stores are the different branches of BroadBand Company.   14. In addition to routine customer care service and information on new products and services (top left), BroadBand Connect Kololo also has a cafeteria (above right) and a state-of-the-art internet café (bottom centre)

  15. And then the activities started in earnest…

  16. In July, Uganda hosted the Smart Global Partnership summit at the Commonwealth Speke Resort at Munyonyo. BroadBand Company was one of about forty companies that participated in an exhibition at the summit. Above, BroadBand Company staff at the exhibition.

  17. President YoweriMuseveni and Swaziland’s King Mswati were some of the VIPs that visited the stall.

  18. Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe also visited the stall and also tested the BroadBand Company connection!

  19. In August, BroadBand Company sponsored a photo exhibition organised by NEED (local NGO) at the East African Community Media Summit at Imperial Royale Hotel.   21. BroadBand Company also sponsored a media centre for journalists. They were provided with a free internet connection and laptops so that they could send their stories to their media houses with ease. The media centre was extremely popular with journalists and other organisations have since approached BroadBand Company for the same sponsorship.

  22. BroadBand Company also made her debut into the world of sports with a sh10m sponsorship package for the Uganda Rugby Union during the final leg of the Elgon Cup. Above, MD Arvid Knutsen hands over the BroadBand Company sponsorship to Uganda Rugby Union officials, as they also unveil the national team jersey with the company’s logo on the back.

  23. The rugby fraternity then fully embraced the BroadBand Company brand. Above, the national rugby team does their practice in BroadBand Company t-shirts

  25. BroadBand Company has also been involved in motor sport. Above, MD Arvid Knutsen meets Bob Roberts, winner of the Fostino Rally (October 2009). Roberts branded his car with BroadBand Company colour and logo. BroadBand Company also sponsored him in the October rally.

  26. During the Annual International Trade Fair at UMA Lugogo Show grounds, the BroadBand Company was one of the few selected to host Vice President Gilbert Bukenya. Above, MD Knutsen takes Prof. Bukenya around the BroadBand Company tent.

  27. Christian Elandsen, CEO of TMP (U) Ltd., the mother company of BroadBand Company also visited the company’s tent at the trade fair. Next to him, Chief Marketing Officer Truls Andresen (in a red tie) speaks to a customer.

  29. Chief Marketing Officer Truls Andresen hands over the grand prize to winner Alice Ayo. All visitors to the BroadBand Company tent had a chance to participate in a draw, which had a grand prize of a brand new laptop, fully connected with the BroadBand dongle with network connection for six months.
