It is designed for high-temperature industrial applications such as furnaces, kilns, boilers, heaters, duct linings and expansion joints. Understanding Ceramic Fiber Blankets Ceramic fiber blankets are made from alumino-silicate fibers known for their lightweight structure, low thermal conductivity, and exceptional heat resistance. They’re flexible, easy to install, and perfect for high-temperature applications such as blacksmith forges, furnaces, and kilns. For best performance, consider covering blanket with metal sheet, foil or refractory brick backing to reduce exposure to high-velocity gas or abrasion. During first heat-up, ramp slowly to avoid thermal shock; monitor shrinkage, secure any loose edges.
