  2. The AspireAssist is a new, FDA-approved weight loss solution for adults with a Body Mass Index between 35 and 55, who have been unable to lose weight or maintain weight loss through diet and exercise. Contact Steven Batash MD at +17188300004 The AspireAssist is a new, FDA-approved weight loss solution for adults with a Body Mass Index between 35 and 55, who have been unable to lose weight or maintain weight loss through diet and exercise. It’s non- surgical and reversible and works by reducing the calories absorbed by the body. After a meal, calories are not absorbed until the stomach starts breaking down the food and passes it to the intestines. The AspireAssist allows patients to remove about 30% of the food from the stomach before the calories are absorbed into the body. That's how it helps you lose weight. Discover if AspireAssist is right for you. Fill out our contact form or call 1.718.830.0004 today!

  3. THE DEVICE A thin tube is placed in your stomach that connects the inside of your stomach directly to a discreet button on the outside of your abdomen. This device enables you to empty, or “aspirate”, up to 30% of your meal into the toilet through this tube. There is a small, handheld device that connects to this button to activate this process. It is discreet and can be stored in a simple case. ALLOW TIME TO RECOVER FROM THE PROCEDURE The procedure recovery is generally quicker than with invasive bariatric procedures. Most patients return home the same day, but some experience significant pain for the first 2-3 days. This pain can generally be managed with medications, but you may need to take a couple of days off of work or other responsibilities to allow yourself to heal. ASPIRATION The process should take place 20 to 30 minutes after eating takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Even with part of the caloric intake removed, the body still receives enough calories to function properly. 4. SUPPORT AspireAssist works with counseling. We get you on a program that encourages healthier eating, smaller portion sizes, and increased physical activity. We are with you every step of the way! It is important to involve your family and the people closest to you. You will need the support of the people around you throughout this process of change. They are a major influence on your health behaviors – such as supporting your efforts to become more active and eat more healthfully, and taking time away from your usual activities to aspirate. YOU’LL HAVE REGULAR DOCTOR’S VISITS Your physician will ask you to return to his or her office every month or two in the first year (and less frequently thereafter) to monitor your progress, check your electrolyte and other blood levels, and make sure your button site is healthy. If you have a busy work or family schedule, or live far from your doctor’s office, consider whether you can commit to the level of care required for this therapy.
