  1. Making the YouTube End Screen Useful for Desktop and Mobile If you ever take a look at things like YouTube, you’re going to notice that there are a lot of people that are coming on there to enjoy whatever is on the table. There are so many different videos on there that you can end up going down quite a rabbit hole as you start searching for different things that fall into various categories. Did you know that there are over 1 billion people that are checking out YouTube on a monthly basis? That’s estimated to be about a third of the people who are using the internet regularly. People prefer to check out the content on YouTube instead of trying to get what they like from the television – whether it’s the convenience or just how different it is, it really does catch people’s attention. The thing is, now more people are using mobile devices in order to access their beloved YouTube views and pages. What does that mean for what we’re trying to accomplish? Are there certain things that need to be changed or adapted to make the whole thing more effective? One of the challenges that YouTube faced with this change was how to change the End Screen. What is an End Screen and Why Does it Matter? You know how you get suggestions for other videos at the end of a video on YouTube? That’s part of what takes you down the rabbit hole that I mentioned above, right? Well, that’s the End Screen. It’s an interactive screen that gives you up to 4 different elements that you can post. Some YouTubers will use it in order to promote other videos. Others will use it to promote collaborations they have done with other YouTube Stars. Even others may use them to send you to other reference videos that are related to the topic of their video. But, it really matters because they are the main way that you keep people engrossed in a topic or in their personality. If you liked a YouTube video, you’re more likely to follow the suggestions that that video gives you for other related videos, right? And that’s what helps these to stay in place and get things taken care of. As you start to look at how you want to expand your website, you can do so easily with some help and working out the things that you want to do, as well. The Changes So, of course, this became an issue when you no longer had a mouse that you could use in order to click on the things that you wanted to be able to check out. How were you supposed to get to the links at the end? That’s where YouTube had to step it up and start to figure out a solution for the end screen when it came to the mobile app. While it’s still in development and things are likely to change as time goes on, the end screen is something that is likely going to be a constant and that will allow you to get the most for what you’re doing on YouTube.
